About Kettlebells

What are Kettlebells?

Kettlebells look like a canon ball with a handle on top. They are a great hand held tool for complete fitness. Whether you are looking to get fit, build muscle or burn fat, kettlebells can help you achieve your goals.

They originated in Russia, with the first recorded mention of Kettlebells was in 1704, within a Russian dictionary.

It's no surprise that Russia have produced some of the world's strongest Olympic and Power athletes over the past few decades as a result of Kettlebell training.

What are the benefits of Kettlebell training?

There are many benefits to regular Kettlebell training. These benefits include:

  • Building of strength and power endurance.
  • Toning and strengthening every muscle in your body
  • Increased mobility and flexibility
  • Decrease body fat dramatically
  • Freedom to workout effectively in your own home

When first learning any new exercise or training programs it's always better to start light, and learn the correct form.

Kettlebell training is different than most dumbbell/barbell programs, and strength gains can happen very quickly. Most Kettlebell lifters start with a set from light to heavy, to allow for strength progressions.

Once you have mastered one handed kettlebell drills, it's time to move onto double kettlebell drills (one kettlebell in each hand).
